There are no buses running from Sandakan airport to Sepilok. You will need to take either a taxi or a Grab – use Grab!

Why you shouldn’t take a taxi
A taxi ride from Sandakan airport to Sepilok will take 20-minutes, and will cost around 40 MYR. Taxis in the Sandakan area are ridiculously overpriced – often costing around twice as much as an equivalent Grab ride.
Grab: Best option
A Grab ride from Sandakan airport to Sepilok will also take 20-minutes. With Grab this will only cost 17 – 20 MYR. If you haven’t already, it’s worth investing in a local sim card even just to take advantage of Grab in Sandakan.
Using Grab in the area will also give you the freedom to explore all that the Sandakan area has to offer – and save you a lot of money!
