If like me you often forget passwords, or have adult expenses you need to keep track of, then you should be using a notetaking app on the road. Evernote is a great solution. It allows you to take notes and make lists from your phone, as well as sync them across multiple devices.

Why use Evernote when travelling

Evernote is a notebook style app. It is a great place to store all the important information you might need to know or might want to keep track. For example:

  • Packing list before you travel
  • Things to do before you hit the road
  • Login details for your accounts and password hints
  • Travel expenses while on the road
  • Dates bills are due at home
  • Travel insurance policy details
  • Phone numbers
  • A diary

Evernote allows you to organize your notes in a number of formats, including – text, sketches, audio, and video. It also allows you to group individual notes in to work books, for example, you could have a whole section just for travel which contains a number of notes within it.

Using one app for all, such as Evernote, allows you to keep all of this information in one place. You can access your Evernote account from any computer as well should you need to do so on the road.

What’s my password again?

We all know how frustrating it can be trying to remember so many different logins and passwords. Consider making a list of everything on Evernote before you set off. If like me you have a problem with your phone on the road, having this information to hand is extremely useful should you need to access all your accounts again. Even though I had to log in to all my apps and accounts again on the road, this was make a lots easier, and took a lot less time, because I has them all in one place.

Of course, you should never actually write your passwords down. Consider using your own code – be creative. For example, if your password is Apple123! – write this down as Hungry123! It is very unlikely someone will draw the connection if they don’t know it. The only password you need to remember is the one for you Evernote account!
